The morning after the party

I guess Cooper was exhausted from the activities of his first Birthday. When he woke up the next morning at 7 I got him up as usual and put him in our bed to cuddle for a minute before starting the day. Well next thing I knew he had fallen asleep. So I let him sleep until almost 9 O'CLOCK!!! For those of you that know of my battles with his sleeping habits or lack-there-of this was nothing short of a miracle. Then being the new mother/ paranoid nurse I got concerned he was sick. Nope just tired.

Sweet Baby!

Happy Birthday Cooper

We had Coopers party yesterday at our house. We (Aunt Kelly) did a farm theme. It was so cute! We had all the family over for lunch and cake. I made carrott cake cup cakes. He was a bit overwhelmed to wake up from his nap and have a house full of people. He warmed up after a while and enjoyed being the center of attention. There were so many cameras and flashes it felt like the paparazzi was in our house.

Thank you to all who have been a part of Coopers first year of life. We have enjoyed every minute of him (yes, even the sleepless nights) . I never knew you could love someone this much. We look forward to his next year.

And we are off.....

Yes Cooper is walking. He took his first consistent steps on November 24th. He has been capable for a very long time but just not brave enough. My Dad has been saying you need to make him walk. What does that mean??? So he was over visiting and said watch I will make him want to come to you and walk to you. Well sure enough thats what he did. I guess the older you get the more you learn that on occasion your parents might know a thing or two. Then by the time Ryan came home for lunch he walked over half way across the room to him.

Coloring is his new thing he holds the crayon above the paper and moves his hand back and forth never touching the paper. It's very cute!

This is the space under the steps that had been designed as a cubbey for the dogs but the are outside dogs now and Cooper loves going in there so it is now coopers hide out, complete with a quilt, pillows, books, toys, etc. he loves it

Coopers First 5K

Cooper went to his first 5k run this week. He was not very happy about it because the start time was his nap time. His Aunt Kelly did the 10k ( go aunt Kelly). Cooper got to meet some of my friends from work. We also stopped on the way back and finished a little Christmas shopping. Yes people Christmas will be here in 5 weeks.

Fun with Millie

I have been off for almost a week due to my grandfathers death. I have however enjoyed my time with Cooper. We have been outside almost everyday. The weather has been beautiful for the most part. Well warm enough most days to be outside. Millie came over to play today. She loves the horses. I think she feed them 2 lbs. of carrotts a piece. I am hoping the horses dont need the vet tonight ( :

Cooper is starting to take a few steps, but then falls into us. He is capable he just lacks the confidence to let go of us and walk. I know it will be soon and then life will never be the same.

Papa II

Early this morning my grandfather PapaII went home to be with the Lord. I am so thankful he got to spend Coopers first year with him.

Yesterday when he was in the bed at hospice unresponsive... so we thought.... he very clearly spoke to Cooper when I took him to his bedside. He very clearly greeted him with a "Hey Buddy" and a vrmmm vrmmm sound when I told him we would be here today playing outside on the patio of his room in the grass. This was the only clear response we got to anything and then less then 12 hours later he took his last breath with all of his family and our pastor by his side.

We are so thankful for the years we had with him. He was a man that worked hard all his life. Taking over the family business and working hard to provide for his family. He enjoyed farming and working on cars. He loved to reminisce and tell stories about "back when". We will miss those stories (whether they were true or not) : ). He adored my grandmother and would give her anything she ever wanted and she looked after him above and beyond the call of a wife. We know as Jono said last night to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. That will be what we cling to over the next days, weeks, etc to come.

Picture with Mom and Dad

So I am really just trying to figure out how to get theses pictures to line up with the caption

Cooper with Mom

Cooper with Dad

On the move

It is an understatement to say he is in to everything. Cooper is not walking yet, he will stand by himself then realize he is standing alone and quickly sit. He loves to sneak into the bathroom and unroll the toilet paper.

He also enjoys pushing his walking toy around until he runs into the wall then he leaves it and moves on.

Crawling is his main mode of travel and boy is he fast.

First time Blogger

Well here it goes... I have been sucked into the blogging world. I read all these cute blogs and thought I should start my own with my cute son. I will start from the present and may back date one day.

Last month Cooper went to his first Cotton Picken fair. If you are not from here it is the local fair held first weekend in May and October. He did great both days. He was so good I bought him a wooden sword that he loved.

Also this month he and myself for that matter went to our first book signing. Mrs Lelia Freeman's book of her husbands stories was published. It is wonderful I have already read the whole thing. Its great to read funny stories about people you remember or know.

Then we have Halloween. Cooper was a monkey. He was adorable and was a good sport for the most part, the outfit was hot and he was getting upset. Guess even a baby doesn't like a "monkey suit" ha ha (theres more corny humor where that came from)
